Re:       Day Services Suspended

All ImagineAbility day services out of both locations will be suspended as of March 17th at 4:30 pm until further notice.

This was not an easy decision and one that was not taken lightly. We are a large group environment  and there are many people who fit the high risk criteria that has been identified. Social distancing is recommended as the best practice for keeping everyone safe and healthy. This means smaller groups, therefore staying at home is the best option for everyone. We will contact you when we resume services and will be updating the website regularly. If you need any help or support, please call us at 204-956-9700. Our offices will remain open and emails will be checked. Wishing you and your families the best of health.

Thank you,
ImagineAbility Inc.

Re:       CoVid-19 (Coronavirus Disease)

At ImagineAbility, our first concern is for the safety and health of our employees, their families and the people we support. We are therefore implementing the following processes for employees who are travelling and returning, employees who have family members who have travelled and with whom the employee is in close physical contact, and employees who are considering travelling:

• All employees who have travelled outside of Canada or who are living with someone who they would be in close contact with who recently returned from travelling outside Canada is required to self-quarantine for 14 days. They can use Personal Days and/or Vacation Days or they can check with Employment Insurance to see if there are any financial benefits available to them.

•  We ask that if an employee has someone returning from a vacation outside of Canada that they live with, the employee considers temporarily relocating for 14 days while they are in self-quarantine otherwise the employee could be subject to an unpaid quarantine as well.

• If an employee becomes infected with COVID-19 and/or is showing symptoms, they must contact Health Links to obtain direction on next course of action. We will have employees work with our benefits provider for short term disability benefits if they become sick.

• Effective immediately: Any employee who chooses to travel outside of Manitoba for non-essential travel, must disclose their travel location to their ImagineAbility manager, and will be subject to a 14 day unpaid self-quarantine until further notice.

We must all do our part to ensure the spread of COVID-19 is minimized and that we keep our loved ones and the vulnerable people in our communities safe and healthy.

Thank you,
ImagineAbility Inc.

Re:       CoVid-19 (Coronavirus Disease)

ImagineAbility is reaching out to all of the people we support to provide an update on the following decisions we have made surrounding COVID-19 (novel coronavirus):

1. People over the age of 60 and/or who have underlying health conditions are being asked to stay home beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 until we provide notice of safe return date.

2. People experiencing any of the following symptoms are being asked to stay home and to call Health Links at 204-788-8200:

  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Trouble breathing
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Weakness/Tiredness

3. People who will be staying home are being asked to inform ImagineAbility at phone # 204-956-9700 or email address admin@imagineability.ca

ImagineAbility is taking these decisions for the following reasons:

1. Caution – Public Health officials are stressing social distancing strategies as one of the important activities that we can do to decrease the likelihood of the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, they identify that people with underlying medical conditions, the elderly and/or those with suppressed immune systems are at greater risk. Reducing unnecessary contact with those we serve who have a higher likelihood of falling into these categories, just makes sense.

2. Reducing strain on resources – All organizations are working hard to prepare for and deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. All resources are needed to address these impacts.

If you are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms, the first step is to call Health Links. The next step is to get tested for the virus at 1 of the 4 testing locations in Winnipeg:

  • ACCESS Winnipeg West on Booth Drive
  • Mount Carmel Clinic on Main Street
  • ACCESS Fort Garry on Plaza Drive
  • ACCESS Transcona on Regent Avenue West

Please, regularly check the ImagineAbility website for updates. www.imagineability.ca

ImagineAbility sincerely cares for the wellbeing of all of the people and families we support.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

The ImagineAbility Team
