Second dose appointments can now be booked at the safe, accessible and inclusive drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic for any staff and family members of staff within the Abilities Network who are eligible for their second dose.

The clinic will be held at 440 River Road Monday, June 21 – Friday, June 25 from Noon – 8 pm.

We will be giving the Moderna vaccine, which is available to anyone who is over 18. People who have received any first dose can receive Moderna as their second dose as long as enough time has passed since their first dose. (Pfizer: 21 days, Moderna: 28 days and AstraZeneca: min 28 days, recommended 8 weeks).

This is a drive-thru clinic where you can stay in your vehicle and the immunizer will come to you. If you don’t arrive in a vehicle, we will still be able to give you your vaccine. All of the people on site are experienced in supporting people who may be fearful, need additional time or have questions. Just let us know if you, your family or the person you are supporting have any additional needs.

You can book using the online system or you can call 204-258-7048 to book your appointment.

Our goal is to support as many people as possible within our community to be vaccinated. If you have any questions about the vaccine, please speak to your supervisor, Occupational Health or your family doctor. We will also have many healthcare professionals on site who can answer any of your questions.

We are counting on staff to get the vaccine to help keep everyone safe!

Additional Information for the Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic – June 21-25

What is this Safe, Accessible and Welcoming Drive-thru Vaccine Clinic??

The vaccine clinic at St.Amant is a safe and welcoming space where people can receive the vaccine in the comfort of their vehicle. When you turn in to the drive-way, we will have volunteers to direct you exactly where to go. When we meet you at our welcome stop, we will ask if you have everything you need. If you need help filling in the paperwork, or if you weren’t able to bring a consent form, we’ll have them there. You will either be directed to move forward to the vaccine area, or if you’re a little early, or need some time to get your paperwork in order we’ll ask you to park in a parking lot and we will have volunteers there to help as needed.

Once you drive in to the vaccine area, there will be an accessible porta-potty available, during some parts of each day we are aiming to have some therapy dogs on site and we’ll have lots of people to help anyone who is feeling a little nervous or a lot anxious! It’s our goal to help people through the vaccine with as much support as needed. If it’s easier to get out of the vehicle, we’ll have an area where you can receive the vaccine outside. If you require somewhere to lie down, we can also accommodate a private indoor vaccine with a space to lie down.

Our vaccines are Moderna, so we can’t vaccinate anyone under 18, but we know that you may children with you and we also know 15 or 30 minutes can feel like a long time for anyone! We are preparing some small activities you can do while in the vehicle after the vaccine. We’ll also have bottled water and a post-vaccine treat for everyone. While you wait we’ll have people walking around outside of the waiting vehicles observing in case any support is needed. There will be lots of nurses and pharmacists and medical professionals on site to answer any questions or respond to any needs.

If there is anything that you or someone in your party needs to feel safe and comfortable, please just let us know upon arrival and we’ll do our very best to accommodate. You can REGISTER FOR VACCINE APPOINTMENTS and we will also have limited drop in available – prioritized for people who are not well-served at the larger sites or through appointments.

Clinic runs Monday June 21 – Friday June 25 from Noon – 8pm.
